WALLPAIR Privacy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
1. Introduction
WALLPAIR (“WALLPAIR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is developed by Wai Ho Tsang. This Privacy Policy explains how WALLPAIR handles information when you use the WALLPAIR mobile application (the “App”), including its wallpaper, widget, content-saving, support, and in-app purchase features.
WALLPAIR provides curated Lock Screen and Home Screen wallpaper pairs. We aim to minimise the information we handle and do not require you to create an account to browse collections or use the App.
By using WALLPAIR, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Handle
WALLPAIR does not require you to create an account or provide personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, or location, in order to browse collections and use the App.
The App may handle limited information only as necessary to provide its features:
- Published wallpaper images, preview clips, thumbnails, collection names, descriptions, display settings, and other catalog metadata provided by WALLPAIR.
- On-device app state, such as saved Wall Pairs, local content availability, search recents, notification preferences, and interface preferences.
- Approximate location, if you allow Location permission, used only to show local weather on the Weather widget after you collect a Premium Wall Pair.
- Reminder titles and completion state from Apple Reminders, if you allow Reminders permission, used only to display and complete items on the To Do widget.
- Information you choose to include if you contact us by email.
- Purchase availability and entitlement information returned by Apple through StoreKit when you make or restore an in-app purchase.
WALLPAIR does not use the App to build a personal profile about you.
3. CloudKit and Content Delivery
WALLPAIR uses Apple CloudKit to deliver WALLPAIR’s own published content, including wallpaper images, preview clips, thumbnails, collection artwork, and collection metadata.
The App accesses this content from the CloudKit Public Database. WALLPAIR uses CloudKit for content delivery only. The App does not use CloudKit to create user accounts or to store your personal information, profile information, bookmarks, saved items, download history, purchase history, or purchase entitlements.
To improve performance and availability, the App may cache copies of WALLPAIR content locally on your device. These cached files remain on your device unless removed through the App, by deleting the App, or through your device’s storage-management tools.
4. On-Device Data
WALLPAIR may store limited information locally on your device to make the App work properly and to remember your choices. This may include:
- Saved or bookmarked Wall Pairs.
- Local display state for content available to you.
- Search recents and browsing preferences.
- Notification preferences and read or dismissed notices.
- Locally cached wallpaper files, previews, and catalog information.
This information is stored locally, such as in UserDefaults, App Group storage, or the App’s local files. WALLPAIR does not upload this on-device data to its CloudKit database.
Deleting the App may remove locally stored preferences, cached content, and local saved-state information from your device. Eligibility for eligible non-consumable purchases remains associated with your Apple Account and may be restored through Apple’s in-app purchase system.
5. Photos Access
If you choose to save a Wall Pair, WALLPAIR may request permission to add the selected Lock Screen and Home Screen wallpapers to your Photo Library.
WALLPAIR uses this permission only to save the wallpaper images that you choose to your device’s Photos library. WALLPAIR does not upload your Photo Library, scan your personal photos, or send your Photo Library content to CloudKit or to a WALLPAIR server.
You can manage Photos permission at any time in your device’s Settings.
6. Location
WALLPAIR may request Location When In Use permission so the Weather widget can show local conditions after you collect a Premium Wall Pair.
Location is optional. If you do not grant it, you can still browse collections, collect Wall Pairs, and use the App. WALLPAIR does not use location to create a personal advertising profile, does not track you in the background for advertising, and does not upload your location to CloudKit or to a WALLPAIR server.
You can change or revoke Location permission at any time in your device’s Settings.
7. Reminders
WALLPAIR may request access to Apple Reminders so the To Do widget can show your reminder list and let you mark items complete from Home Screen.
Reminders access is optional. If you grant it, the App and widget read reminder titles and completion state on your device in order to display and update that list. WALLPAIR does not upload your reminders to CloudKit or to a WALLPAIR server, and does not use reminder content for advertising.
You can change or revoke Reminders permission at any time in your device’s Settings.
8. In-App Purchases
WALLPAIR may offer paid digital content, such as premium Wall Pairs or Collections, through Apple In-App Purchase.
All payment transactions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account. WALLPAIR does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
The App uses StoreKit to determine whether you have an active entitlement to paid content and to restore eligible non-consumable purchases. WALLPAIR does not use CloudKit as the source of truth for purchase entitlements.
If you reinstall the App, change devices, or need to re-sync eligible purchases, you may use the Restore Purchases option in the App. Purchase availability remains subject to Apple’s App Store policies, your Apple Account, and the status of the relevant transaction.
For questions about charges, refunds, payment methods, or Apple Account billing, please contact Apple Support.
9. Notifications
WALLPAIR may ask for permission to display notifications or alerts. Notification permission is optional.
If you allow notifications, the App may use your device’s notification settings to show app-related alerts. You can change or revoke notification permission at any time through your device’s Settings.
WALLPAIR does not use notification permission to create a personal advertising profile about you.
10. Widgets
If you add a WALLPAIR widget, the widget may use limited locally stored information and content shared through the App Group on your device in order to display WALLPAIR content and your selected presentation state. Widgets are shown on Home Screen.
The Weather widget may use Location permission, and the To Do widget may use Reminders permission, as described above. The widget does not create a user account and does not upload widget preferences or widget activity to WALLPAIR’s CloudKit database.
11. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
WALLPAIR does not include third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs in the current version of the App, including Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, or Crashlytics.
WALLPAIR does not use the advertising identifier for advertising purposes and does not use App Tracking Transparency to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
WALLPAIR does not sell your personal information.
12. Data Sharing
WALLPAIR does not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Information may be handled by Apple as necessary to provide Apple services used by the App, including CloudKit, the App Store, StoreKit, Photos, Location, Reminders, system notifications, and the system Mail composer. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request; to protect the rights, safety, and security of WALLPAIR, our users, or others; or to investigate fraud, security, or technical issues.
13. Data Retention
WALLPAIR does not maintain a user account database or a CloudKit database of users’ personal profiles, bookmarks, download history, or purchase history.
On-device information remains on your device until you remove it, delete the App, reset relevant settings, or remove it using your device’s storage-management tools.
